Ringworm VS Eczema: Know the Difference

Ringworm and eczema are skin conditions that cause inflammation in your skin, but they have different causes. Eczema has multiple causes, whereas ringworm is a fungal infection and can be treated with anti-fungal medicines.

What Is Nummular Eczema?

Nummular eczema is a chronic skin condition. If affected, the individual will see round swollen spots that are itchy and secrete clear fluid. There are treatments available for it, but there are cases where it comes back even after treatments. So having good skin care will always help in keeping it in check.

What Is Ringworm?

Ringworm is another skin condition with almost the same effect as nummular eczema. Although, it doesn't have as many symptoms as eczema. If affected by it, the individual's skin will have red rings. However, it is common to just see one red patch.

Is There Any Difference Between the Causes of Eczema and Ringworm?

Without a doubt, the causes are quite different. With eczema, there is no exact cause. Experts speculate that genetics play a role in this and the surrounding environment. In contrast, ringworm is caused by a fungal infection.

Even though there is no specific cause, there are things that can trigger eczema to flare up. It depends on every individual. Here are a few things that can increase the symptoms of eczema:
